Many people have never even heard of a pangolin. If you were to show someone a picture of a pangolin and ask them what it was you would likely get many different responses. Some might say "Is that a dragon?", "Why is that artichoke walking?" and the like. What most don't know is that this is the only scaled mammal on the planet.
This animal has plated scales covering its entire body and can use those scales as an incredible defense mechanism. When threatened the pangolin can curl up into an armored ball and protect itself from almost any and all predators in the wild. The pangolin has enormous sharp claws that is uses to dig, move rocks and find food. Its cone shaped face and long sticky tongue make it possible for the animal to get its mouth into tight crevices to eat its meals consisting of insects.
